Were instruments involved in performances of songs from Boethius' De consolatione philosophiae in the early Middle Ages?  If so, what did they play? 

These two questions provide the focus for this section and are considered firstly through an introductory overview of surviving evidence under the title 'The Question of Instruments'.  A series of videos follows under 'Sequentia videos', in which the three members of Sequentia involved in the project discuss their instruments and the approaches that they developed for the performance of the Boethian songs.  Each video is accompanied by further information, providing links to images of the instruments discussed and further reading about the issues raised.
